Self-Improving Infrastructure
the machine both run on
A stack that makes frontier training faster and provably correct, and that tunes itself.
The loop
- 01 · Run
- Execute training at frontier throughput.
- 02 · Check
- Prove the run computed what was asked.
- 03 · Tune
- Search kernels, schedules, and parallelism.
- 04 · Gate
- Admit no speedup that fails the check.
What it owns
Execution, scheduling, kernels, replay, lineage, and the correctness guarantees that make every other measurement in the program mean anything.
Why it can improve itself
A distributed training job can finish with finite losses and plausible reward curves while silently computing the wrong thing. Speed is easy to measure and correctness is not, so the contribution that matters is making correctness cheap enough to check on every run.
This is also the shortest loop of the three. A tuner can tune the next tuner in hours rather than campaigns, which makes it the first place recursion becomes observable at all.
What it looks like when it works
Each generation of the tuner produces the next one, measured against a frozen ancestor, with a correctness gate so speed can never be bought with wrongness.
